Nginx is a free, open-source, high-performance HTTP and reverse proxy server, a mail proxy server, and a generic TCP/UDP proxy server. Nginx high-performance functionality facilitates ingest, especially streaming live data from a web or cloud source.

Nginix is used to run the Scuba user interface (UI) and is installed on all cluster types, single-node and multi-node. On an standard Scuba multi-node cluster, Nginx is only installed on the API node. When configuring a cluster for streaming ingest, Nginx is installed on the Listener node.
